Vulnerable Children in Kalimbira VillageOrphans in Kalimbira Village

The work of Home-Based Care volunteers is rewarding, but very difficult.  As they visit orphans and vulnerable children, the sick, and the elderly who are suffering and in need in their neighborhoods, they often feel overwhelmed by the challenges and tremendous needs.  HBC workers need our prayer as they minister to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those they visit.

If you are willing to pray on a regular basis for Home-Based Care workers, we will send you a monthly email update on prayer needs. You can subscribe to this prayer update by sending your email address to HBC Prayer Update.

Give

You Can Sponsor a Home Based Care Worker in Malawi through giving a tax- deductible gift of $35 a month. Your regular gift will provide HBC volunteers and their patients with the food, medicine, supplies and transportation, they need.

As a sponsor, you will be linked with a specific Home Based Worker and provided with a picture and information about their families, ministry, challenges, and hopes and dreams. You will also receive regular updates on the ministry of  HBC workers via email and this website.

If you would like more information about sponsoring a Home-Based Care worker, send an email to HBC Sponsorship. To give a one-time gift, please see the information on our “Donate” page on this website.

Praying for a HBC Patient

Praying for a HBC Patient

Every year there are opportunities for you to go to Africa and participate in teams that train, minister to and work alongside Home-Based workers.  Each trip is a little different, but you can expect to be involved in training HBC volunteers, praying with and encouraging them, going with them to visit patients in villages and communities and helping with interviewing new HBC volunteers that will enable them to be sponsored.  These trips can be life-changing.

In 2010, Visionledd is offering the following short-term mission teams to Africa with a Home-Based Care component.

July 13-31 – (Malawi – departing from major US cities)

October 14 – November 1 (Zambia – departing from Toronto, Canada)

November 20-30 (Burkina Faso — departing from major US cities
